Barrington Players is a local amateur dramatics group, open to all and run by an enthusiastic group of amateurs of all ages, living within the local community.
What we do
Putting on a show involves people from all walks of life and capabilities, so even if you don’t fancy treading the boards, we need help backstage with props, costumes, make-up and hair or front-of-house, or even selling tickets, designing programs, etc. We are always looking for a cast of all age ranges and levels of experience. If you have not performed on stage before don’t let this put you off getting in touch or coming along to our next audition.

We welcome new members, especially younger gardeners and non-members/guests are also welcome at any of our meetings. You will be sure of a warm reception, an interesting talk AND tea/coffee and biscuits. Membership is just £10 per year and non-member/guests pay £2 per meeting.
Our league table tennis teams normally play on a Monday evening. They have decided to delay their return until probably September 2022. There is an opportunity for someone to run fun table tennis for the village.

Offering recreational art classes. Each course is approximately 10-12 weeks long. The classes are led by local artist Chris Dart, an exceptional and very experienced art tutor who has an amazing ability to make people feel comfortable while, at the same time build their confidence. His classes are aimed at people of all abilities from total beginners to ex-art students who would like to cultivate their creative skills - indeed anyone who would like to explore colour, sketching, painting and their own ideas. This entails such basics as observational studies, different techniques, methods and materials, as well as design and compositional understanding.

In this class we use a combination of static and flowing yoga poses, each pose connecting us with our breath. This class will strengthen our bodies, increase our flexibility and aid mobility. It's also a great opportunity to take time to bring ourselves into the present moment to bring relief from our busy lives and settle our minds.
